Life is a pilgrimage
After spending several holidays walking historic footpaths in the heart of Italy, we realised that travelling on foot allowed us to refocus on the essentials and to live at human speed. This pace, which suited us, was difficult to maintain in the society in which we lived.
During a pilgrimage from Rome to Assisi, we discovered by “chance” a house that became the cornerstone of our project.
This house turned out to be the unexpected setting in which we could bring together our talents and realise our life projects: to welcome, surprise and share our enthusiasm.
So as not to postpone our dreams until it was “too late”, we decided to answer this call.
Via San Damiano is the pedestrian footpath that leads from Assisi to the Sanctuary of San Damiano and along which our traditional stone house is located.
Rooms
The rooms are placed under the aegis of Saint Francis. San Damiano is the place where Saint Francis wrote the Canticle of the Creatures. Everything here leads us to believe that the surroundings of the house served as inspiration to Saint Francis. However, his inspiration came from within, as Saint Francis was ill and almost blind. In welcoming you to our guest rooms, we hope that the surroundings will enchant you and that your stay will leave its mark on your mind.

Boutique
We have placed our boutique under the aegis of Saint Clare of Assisi. San Damiano was the privileged witness of many miracles performed by Saint Clare. We cannot perform miracles at our humble station, but we hope to surprise every visitor with the objects that are on show.
